Summer is finally here!
The European Digital Rights (EDRi) in Brussels is looking for an intern to carry out EU policy-making activities. The candidates should have, among other requirements, a good understanding of European decision-making as well as interest in human rights and technology issues. The German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) Annual Meeting will take place from 27 to 30 September 2017 at Hotel Grand Elysée in Hamburg, Germany. High-level speakers will present, among other timely topics, the control of digital use of works; quantifying for monetary relief; the marketing of botanicals from a pharmaceutical and food law perspective; the relevance of certification marks in practice; updates on WIPO alternative dispute resolutions; the determination of technical facts in patent litigation; the legal framework and enforcement of data and privacy rights; and the FRAND aspects from antitrust, contractual and procedural law points of view. Last, but not least, is the publication of the first Quality Report by the European Patent Office. The report describes the implementation of EPO quality policy in its products and services, such as the ISO 9001 quality management applied to the entire patent prosecution process, EPO’s customer service and the “Early Certainty” timeliness initiative.
